Join us in the Casa de Vinos Lounge for our monthly Saturday Afternoon Discover Australian Whisky & Cheese Tasting.

This relaxed tasting experience is an opportunity to explore the world of Australian whisky, featuring a curated selection of five exceptional whiskies, each showcasing different styles, cask influences, and flavour profiles from some of the country’s most exciting producers.

To complement the whiskies, we’ll also be serving a selection of local Australian cheeses, because great Australian whisky and cheese are a perfect pairing.

The Whiskies
Each month we sample the following five single cask whiskies:

Highwayman Distillery - Ex Laphroaig Cask for Whisky Abbey - 55% ABV
Backwoods Distilling Co. - Barrel 31, American Oak Shiraz for Whisky Abbey - 55.2% ABV
Heartwood / Tasmanian Independent Bottlers - Sherry Cask for Whisky Abbey - 45.7% ABV
Kinglake Distillery - Ex-Rye Whisky Cask for Whisky Abbey - 46% ABV
Archie Rose Distilling Co. - Oloroso Sherry Cask for Whisky Abbey - 50% ABV

Hosted by Casa de Vinos’ William Ward, this tasting is designed to be an enjoyable and informative afternoon, perfect for those discovering Australian whisky for the first time as well as long-time enthusiasts.

All whiskies featured are exceptional single cask releases bottled exclusively for Casa de Vinos and our Whisky Abbey events. At the end of the tasting, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase your favourite bottles at a special event price.

The guided tasting runs for approximately 60 minutes, after which guests are welcome to stay and relax in the lounge.
